Another week at St. Nicholas Animal Rescue
This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions here at St. Nicholas Animal Rescue. We welcomed five new animals through our doors, each with their own story of hardship and hope. While we celebrate the progress of some, our hearts are heavy with the loss of two very special souls.
This is Echo
She arrived in a terrible state, her tiny body riddled with parasites and roundworms, leaving her severely anemic and weak.
We’d appreciate it if you could take a moment to give us your feedback. Your input helps our Rescue gain more credibility.
This is Bella...
When Bella came to us, she was barely clinging to life. Her weakness was so profound she couldn’t even stand. A life-saving blood transfusion was her only hope to get back on her paws.
This is Jinx.
A heartfelt thank you to Nikki, the kind individual who spotted Jinx and immediately called us. Thanks to her quick thinking, Jinx received prompt treatment for a severe upper respiratory infection and two painful broken ribs. Thankfully, this brave girl is already showing great improvement!
This is Hermie.
We poured all our efforts and love into Hermie. She was finally safe, warm, and comfortable after what we can only imagine was a difficult journey. But it seems her little body had endured too much. Just as she seemed to be settling, she peacefully slipped away to heaven. This one cuts deep. We will never forget her sweet puppy face and those bright eyes that are now gone forever.
Sky & Hermie did not make it!
And our hearts are shattered as we share the news of our beautiful, sweet baby girl Sky, who sadly also did not make it.
While our hearts ache for Hermie and Sky, we are also filled with hope watching the progress of Echo, Bella, and Jinx. Their journeys remind us why we do what we do, and the incredible resilience of these animals.
Your support makes all the difference in giving these vulnerable creatures a chance at life, comfort, and love. Please consider donating to St. Nicholas Animal Rescue so we can continue to be a beacon of hope for animals in need here in Dominica. Every little bit helps us provide medical care, food, and shelter to those who have nowhere else to turn.
