Be a Hero on Your Next Holiday: Become a Flight Angel
Are you traveling from Dominica to the United States? You have a unique opportunity to be the crucial link in a rescued puppy’s journey to a loving forever home. By volunteering as a “Flight Angel,” you can help save a life without any cost or hassle.
We handle everything: all the paperwork, animal fees, and customs forms. We provide the carrier and all necessary supplies and meet you at the airport in Dominica. Upon arrival in the U.S., a volunteer from SNAR will be there to greet you and the puppy. Your travel plans remain exactly the same, but you’ll be giving a deserving animal an incredible second chance.

The Shelter Diaries: Recent Highs and Heartbreaking Lows
Life at the rescue is an emotional rollercoaster, a constant mix of hope and heartbreak. The past few weeks have been a powerful reminder of this reality.
We recently welcomed an unexpected resident, an opossum we’ve named Manny. He was in terrible distress, found with a broken jaw and a severely injured eye requiring surgery. We are happy to report that with dedicated care, Manny is slowly but surely improving each day, a small victory we cherish.
Beloved Puppy Headly
Amidst this hopeful recovery, we’ve also faced profound loss. We had to say a devastating goodbye to our beloved puppy, Headly. A special girl rescued from the shelter, Headly was born with hydrocephalus. Despite providing the best possible care, her condition was too much to overcome. Her loss is felt deeply.

Fluffy crossed the rainbow bridge to cat heaven
Tragedy struck again when we lost Fluffy, another cherished member of our family. Fluffy’s parents attempted a valiant rescue, but despite their heroic efforts, he crossed the rainbow bridge to cat heaven.
A Desperate Plea: We Cannot Do This Alone
These individual stories are just a few among the hundreds of animals who depend on us every day. Right now, St Nicholas Animal Rescue is caring for over 325 dogs and 56 cats. Every single morning, our first and biggest challenge is figuring out how to feed them all.
We are stretched to our absolute limit. The cost of food is staggering, and our resources are nearly gone. We are turning to you, our community, and begging for your help. Without your immediate support, we don’t know how we can continue to provide the daily meals these animals so desperately need.
Please, don’t let their bowls be empty. Every single dollar fills a tummy and reminds an animal they are loved. We cannot do this without you.
Will you help us feed them today?
